For this piece I wanted to try something that I had never done before which is pixel art. I started with a background and a very rough sketch that I refined to get the shapes of the object down. From there I added rough colors and then went back and added more shades. Finally I added some smaller details and blended colors where I though there were too big of jumps.

For this piece I tried to go back to the fantasy landscape idea and practice it some more. I started with the background and then added more and more layers to try to add depth. Finally I experimented with effects like glow, lighting, and blurring to try to add some more interest to the painting.

At this point I was fairly new to Photoshop and extremely new to painting so for this piece I tried to use more techniques and tools that I have never used. First where I typically use just two or three layers I ended up with 7. I found that this really helped me stay more organized and it helped a lot when I needed to go back and add something to a layer but have it go under or over something else. I also did a bit more research and found some new brushes which helped with some small parts like foliage and the texture of the mountains. I started with blocking out the sand, sky, and water. After that I added the mountains on a new layer on top and then tried to add shading and texturing using different shades. After that I created a “haze” layer to try to add some depth to the background mountains and added them in.

There were a few first in this piece for me. First of all I experimented with different brushes which was new to me. The cloud brush made it easier to add texture to the clouds and add a bit more depth. I also used some of the built in brushes I had never used like one for the foliage. This immensely helped in the process of creating the trees. I also used layers much more effectively than last piece and it helped out when I needed to add something and didn’t want to mess with things on other layers.

I started with mapping out outlines for the basic shapes, from there I cleaned up the sketchy lines into sharper lines. I then added flat colors and finally I went back and added shading and highlights to the piece. I struggled a bit with getting the proportions exactly how I wanted them so that's something I plan to work on more in the future.

For this piece I tried but struggled a lot with getting a car looking correct from a perspective. It was one of the first times that I tried drawing something in two point perspective and it took a lot of sketching and re-sketching but after watching a few tutorials on how to draw in 2 point perspective and a lot of guide lines I ended up with a half decent shape.
